Evolving Web at CUSEC 2011

Last week, Evolving Web had a lot of fun attending CUSEC 2011. CUSEC is the Canadian Undergraduate Software Engineering Conference, an annual event in Montreal attended by around 300 university students and professionals. This is the first year that we've sponsored the event and we were really impressed by the quality of the talks and the number of talented software engineers that dropped by our table.

Mike Shaver gave an excellent talk about software development at Mozilla. As VP Engineering of Mozilla, he offered a really interesting perspective on managing a large-scale project. Other interesting presentations included Yehuda Katz's talk about the culture of web development projects, and Julie Steele's talk about data visualizations.

The conference was a great opportunity to meet undergrads interested in software development from Montreal and beyond. Both at the Demo Camp on Thursday night and in conversations with students, we got to hear about projects that students are building.

A huge thanks to the conference organizers for all their hard work!
