Drupal Training in Montreal

Over the past two months, we've held four public Drupal trainings out of our office in Montreal. It's been an amazing experience for building up the Montreal Drupal community, practicing our training talents, and introducing lots of people to Drupal.
The training sessions have been particularly popular amongst students who want to get into web development and are looking for a way to soften Drupal's steep learning curve. Software engineering and computer science students who we've met at Concordia and McGill have been among the most eager learners in our classes. We've also had a lot of response from professionals who are using Drupal in their day-to-day work and are interested in expanding their knowledge and expertise. Freelancers who are building websites for clients and want to use a more powerful platform or need a platform they can manage for their own website have also shown an eagerness to learn. It's exciting to connect with users outside the Drupal community.
We've also done a couple of intro-to-Drupal sessions since the new year. We did a Hello Drupal training at our office on January 16th. I also presenting on building websites with Drupal at a Girl Geek event in January. There are lots of people looking to get more knowledge about building websites and getting content online, and it's exciting to share our knowledge of Drupal with them. Doing short, free training sessions is a great way to build a broader Drupal community and foster wider adoption of the platform.
