Training
Evolving Web is running a Views configuration training at DrupalCon Portland this year. Views is the most popular contributed module on Drupal.org and an essential tool for any Drupal website. It allows you to create dynamic listings of content with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Last week, I headed to Toronto for DrupalCamp Toronto 2012. Toronto has a thriving Drupal community and the camp attracts a mix of Drupal developers, site builders, designers, and end users. With more and more organizations in the city using Drupal, the camp is a great place to share knowledge, do networking, and find out what's going on in the larger Drupal community. This year's camp was held at the recently renovated Burroughes Building at Queen and Bathurst. The venue's open concept layout promoted lots of interaction among attendees.
Drupal Global Training Days are a recent initiative in the Drupal community, created this year by the Drupal Association to help spread Drupal adoption. The concept is to organize free or at-cost intro Drupal training on a given day, to grow the Drupal community. Drupal companies and local user groups are encouraged to organize a training session in their area as part of the event.
There will be a hive of activity around multilingual Drupal at DrupalCon Munich 2012! Whether you're new to multilingual Drupal or a developer wanting to change how Drupal works with language, there are lots of opportunities to get involved.
Managing translation workflows is an important and challenging aspect of multilingual site building. Translation can be time-consuming and expensive, and there are some exciting new Drupal modules and lots of best practises to help you streamline how you translate content and user interface strings in Drupal 7. This week, I recorded an Acquia webinar on multilingual workflows, and I'll be covering the topic in more detail at a training at DrupalCon Munich.
In an increasingly global world, Drupal core's support for multilingual content has made it a favourite CMS among large organizations. Despite that, Drupal site-builders and develpoers are often stumped by the myriad of possible approaches and tricks involved in making it work. Over the last few months, Evolving Web has worked together with Acquia to put together a multilingual site building course to walk you through the process step by step and unfuddle much of the complexity.
Over the past two months, we've held four public Drupal trainings out of our office in Montreal. It's been an amazing experience for building up the Montreal Drupal community, practicing our training talents, and introducing lots of people to Drupal.
Evolving Web is excited to announce the start of our Drupal training program. As an Acquia training partner, we will offer training in site building, module development, and theming.
